Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Automation will lead a team responsible for configuration and subject matter expertise within an operations support environment. This role also demands strong working relationships with IT, onboarding, business relationship managers, and distribution partners. Additionally, the Senior Manager will need a broad understanding of administration platforms, integrations, and the interdependencies between product teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead configuration and subject matter expert teams responsible for platform design, build, and testing

  • Serve as Product Owner for the supported teams, including Data Integrations and Automated Order Entry Teams, working within an agile framework

  • Oversee straight-through processing, DTCC feeds, industry initiatives, and the AnnuityNet, Affirm, and Firelight platforms

  • Build and develop a highly motivated, independent team

  • Develop a strong understanding of supported processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and greater efficiency

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to set priorities, providing guidance to the scrum team to ensure the work delivered aligns with the strategic plan and expected timings

  • Create operational processes necessary for meeting business requirements

  • Lead the team in the research, analysis, and resolution of moderate to complex production issues

  • Develop communication appropriate for various levels within the organization

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of equivalent professional experience involving planning and execution of operational functions

  • 4+ years of professional/technical work experience required

  • 3+ years’ experience leading and developing teams

  • Strong understanding of annuity products and operational process

  • Results oriented, self-motivated individual who takes ownership over assignments

  • Strong problem solving, communication, and conflict management skills

  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence, as well as agile methodologies

  • Must be curious, organized, and able to thrive in a collaborative environment

  • Embraces changes and assists in guiding others through change
