Job Title: Talent Supervisor
Department: Human Resources/Training & Education
FLSA: Exempt
General Function
Coordinates Human Resources related training and provides assistance to retail personnel regarding policy and procedure interpretation, federal and state laws, interviewing, hiring, ADA, FMLA, and other common HR practices. Trains, oversees training and assists in developing curriculum used in our retail stores, including customer experience training, register operations, front-end operations, supervisory skills and other essential training needs.
*Centrally located residency is required within the area.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provides training and assistance to retail personnel regarding HR related issues, such as interviewing, hiring, ADA, FMLA, policy or procedure concerns, and wage and hour issues.
Counsels retail store management in the areas of unemployment and employee performance management (coaching, counseling, and discipline). Investigates employee concerns including harassment and discrimination.
Coordinates and assists with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, initial sign up and training of employees at new and existing retail locations.
Trains HR managers at new and existing retail locations regarding all aspects of the employee experience and lifecycle.
Conducts store audits of personnel files at retail locations.
Monitors store compliance of company policies regarding employee files, and investigates issues regarding employee records when necessary.
Continues to update knowledge of laws and issues that affect the employee lifecycle.
Receives, interprets, reviews and sends (to the appropriate locations and individuals) employee and customer complaints.
Trains and guides retail locations regarding providing an amazing customer experience.
Trains store management, in-store trainers, and other store department personnel.
This includes working with online training programs, utilizing webinars and other technology related training formats.
Monitors, evaluates and recommends training programs to ensure optimum customer service is being delivered.
Instructs, assigns work, plans the work of others, maintains standards, coordinates activities, and acts on employee problems.
Schedules and executes rollouts for updated and/or additional software, including training and implementation of such software.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Frequent overnight travel is required.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews current talent processes and makes suggestions whenever possible.
Anticipates store and employee needs.
Works as a team member and supports the entire HR and Training departments.
Assists with updating materials.
Answers calls from store management and employees.
Works with team members to ensure all hardware and software is working properly.
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Includes but is not limited to: Hy-Vee University, training, unemployment, full and part-time service awards and Career Day.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; college education in one of the following areas is desirable, human resources, education or psychology.
1-3 years previous related work experience in human resources or training.
Physical Requirements
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perceptions.
Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
The duties of this position are performed in a retail setting. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day. This position also requires traveling weekly and overnight stays.
