Wells Fargo Tax Controversy Analyst in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa

Department Overview

The Corporate Tax Department is primarily comprised of six groups dedicated to delivering comprehensive corporate income tax services globally to Wells Fargo & Company and its subsidiaries.

About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Tax Controversy Analyst to work with the Corporate Tax Department's federal and state income tax controversy team. In this role, you will assist with federal and state income tax audits and provide assistance in tracking and accounting for controversy related risks and resolutions.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in federal and state corporate income tax audits.

  • Assist in federal and state income tax appeals and litigation.

  • Conduct research and prepare analyses related to tax controversy matters.

  • Assist in drafting memos and protests related to tax controversy matters.

  • Interact with federal and state tax authorities.

  • Advise and/or prepare amended tax returns.

  • Assist in accounting, reporting, and controls related to controversy risks and resolutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Business Taxation, Finance, Accounting, Analytics or Reporting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Attorney License.

  • Master's degree in accounting or Tax or Law Degree.

  • 3+ years corporate income tax experience.

  • Large corporate income tax return or tax provision experience.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills.

  • Longview, Essbase, and/or SmartView experience.
